Expansive soils are highly problematic by virtue of their innate capacity to undergo volumetric changes such as swelling ans shrinkage based on changes in water content. As a result, lightly loaded civil engineering infrastructure founded in these soils get severely distressed. Chemical stabilisation is one the many innovative foundation practices suggested for reducing the above-mentioned volumetric changes. This book is on stabilisation of a remoulded expansive soil with pond ash. Swelling and compressibility characteristics were studied at varied amounts of pond ash.
