One of the major challenges facing Burkina Faso is to boost national agricultural production, and this could be done by promoting the cultivation of strict rainfed rice. This study was initiated to contribute to the improvement of strict rainfed rice production. To this end, a trial was conducted at the Farako-Bâ research station, on a plot that had lain fallow for more than ten years. The trial was set up in a completely randomized Fisher block design. Our study involved 6 treatments repeated 4 times. Thus, the effects of FV (7.5t/ha), FV (7.5t/ha) + BP (500kg/ha), FV (7.5t/ha) + Urea (100kg/ha), FV (7.5t/ha) + BP (500kg/ha) + Urea (100kg/ha), NPK (200kg/ha) + Extension Urea (100kg/ha) and those of the absolute control on soil chemical parameters, agro-morphological parameters of strict rainfed rice on the one hand, and paddy yield, above-ground biomass weight, 1000-grain weight and chemical composition of the crops on the other hand were evaluated.
