El Dr. B. R. Phanikumar es catedrático de Ingeniería Civil en la Facultad de Ingeniería SRKR, AP (India). Es doctor en Ingeniería Civil (ingeniería geotécnica) y fue investigador postdoctoral en las universidades de Bradford (Reino Unido) y Iowa State (EE.UU.). Sus áreas de investigación son los suelos expansivos y la mejora del suelo. Es autor de 330 artículos de investigación.
