Buffalo occupies an important place in livestock economy of Asia. These are valued for triple purpose i.e. milk meat and draft power.Buffaloes contribute more than half of the total milk production in India.Due to increase in growth rate of livestock population in association with reduction in land availability for fodder production, the meeting of nutrient requirements of animals is now recognized as the major constraint for sustaining a positive growth in livestock sector. In order to bridge the gap between availability and requirements of feedstuffs for different livestock, unconventional feedstuffs like agricultural crop residues and agro-industrial by-products,which are available in large quantities, need to be put to effective use in livestock rations.Hence, there is need to utilize agro-industrial by-products and crop residues .Such agro-industrial by-products available are sheanut cake and palm press fibre.Present study indicated that fibrous by products like palm press fibreand sheanut cake could be better utilized by incorporating in complete diets of lactating Murrah buffaloes and growing buffalo calves.
