Machakos County is one of the 47 counties in Kenya where the Government has implemented strategies to reduce poverty. The County has poverty level of 59.6 %. The objective of this work was to assess the Effect of Poverty Reduction Strategies on Improving Quality of Life in Machakos County. Data then was collected, coded and tabulated using statistical relevant measures to minimize on errors and biases. The Probit model was used to give summaries about the sample data and presented quantitative descriptions with clarity. The results indicate that, first; all cash transfers were likely to improve quality of life in the County. Second, the girl child enrolment and completion rate in primary school have the largest impact in improving the quality of life in the County. Third, only secondary school enrolment was likely to improve quality of households. . Fourth, none of the conventional pro-poor programmes were likely to improve the quality of life.
