In present study an attempt is made to study the effect of splicing parameters on the splice quality, in case of three different splicers viz. pneumatic, mechanical and aqua splicer. Following observations are made from the results obtained after experimentation.In case of pneumatic splicer, the splicing parameters viz. opening time, splicing pressure and splicing time do not show significant effect on tensile properties viz. SRS% and SBR%. As far as absolute values are concerned splicing air pressure shows notable increase in SRS% and SBR%.In pneumatic splicer, effect of splicing parameters on abrasion resistance is not statistically significant. The diameter of splice is significantly affected by splicing parameters. Increase in these codes (duration) decrease the diameter. but, it should not be the expense of reduction in SRS and SBR.The results for P/C blends yarns are similar to the 100% cotton yarn as discussed above, in case of pneumatic splicer.
