This book explores the impact of using super-plasticizers in mortar and concrete. Various tests were conducted on cement paste, mortar, and five different types of concrete mixes, comparing them with and without the addition of four indigenous super-plasticizers: CMC-Superplast, Sikament-600, Plastiment-BV/40, and CICO-Superplast. The study analyzed the effects of different dosage levels (0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0%) of the super-plasticizers on water reduction, as well as the 7-day and 28-day compressive strength of the mortar and concrete. Additionally, the standard consistency and setting time of the cement paste were assessed for each super-plasticizer and dosage level. The results demonstrated that the appropriate dosage of super-plasticizers reduces water content, slightly delays setting time, and enhances the compressive strength of mortar and concrete without adversely affecting other fresh properties.
