The main objective of this study is to determine appropriate combination of welding current and filler metal type for good quality weld of austenitic stainless steel joint. This will enhance welder's ability to produce any desired quality of austenitic stainless steel weld joint using GTAW process. The mathematical model developed from the experimental data can be conveniently used to predict the mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength and percent elongation) of low alloy austenitic stainless steel weld joints given a welding current and filler metal type.
