Lima is the capital of Peru, has 30% of the total population of Peru located in Lima and 70% of the houses in Lima are of masonry confined, with 7 million people livinge in these homes. As the masonry dwellings are a good solution to the demand of concrete, the seismic code recommends buildings with this system and gives us certain minimum values of their results to be able to use them. To obtain better approximate values, three models were analyzed. The first one is the housing without retrofitting, the second analysis is on the housing with all walls retrofitted and the third is on the housing with 50% of the total walls retrofitted. With three points we interpolate the percentage of retrofitting of the house. My goal is to have a methodology to obtain the percentage of retrofitting of this type of masonry house, repeat it to a certain number and then relate the density of walls with the percentage of retrofitting, so that other housing with scarce resources can have those results as a reference for strengthening their homes.
