Farmers group was originated in late 1960s in Switzerland and Japan as Community Supporting Agriculture (CSA) where Consumer and Producers came together in economic partnership for mutual benefit. It is part of Agri-extension approach comprising of certain group of farmers having common farming interest to provide platform for agriculture and solve problem together. GON has adopted the farmers' group approach of extension service delivery for reasons of cost effectiveness, group learning and joint decision making. They are advised by extension workers to conduct regular monthly meetings and to raise welfare funds. This book gives the detail insight of the effectiveness, efficiency and gender roles in decision making process in farmers group of Chitwan, Nepal.
