Monte Carlo analysis is a powerful tool for modeling the reliability of micro satellite systems. Formal modeling of a single satellite and logical specification of its reliability, fault tree, cut set and overall effectiveness is presented. Monte Carlo simulation is used to perform automated quantitative analyses of these properties. The most critical system component and their contribution values play a strong role in the identification of the weak path which leads to system failure and propose the candidate component(s) to be duplicated as backup technique.
