The transfer of knowledge from previous generations to future generations is largely structured through the education system and educational programs and models. However, the goals of education do not end there. A modern educational system should not and must not be aimed only at the simple transfer of knowledge, but should strive to encourage future generations to question everything that is passed on to them as finished knowledge, to analyze it critically and analytically, to explore it from multiple aspects and sources of information and to always be looking for alternative explanations for different phenomena.Taking into account the personal experiences in higher education, the authors of this text undertook to conduct a comprehensive theoretical and practical analysis of teaching and distance learning, in an attempt to form a kind of SWOT analysis of how this process took place during the pandemic. And in order to identify the problems, as they are seen by the students and the teaching staff, as an initial step towards generating potential solutions to overcome them.
