The professional competence of teachers is one of the most determining factors for a country's quality of education. The competence of teachers is in turn determined by its teacher training and education system. Educators all over the world have been coming up with different research based innovations regarding the education and training of teachers. Different education systems have also been introducing and exercising different teacher training and education systems with the aim of producing professionally competent teachers. One of the regional states of Ethiopia, Tigrai, had introduced a new teacher upgrading program at one of its teacher education colleges. This research-based book examines the effectiveness of this program by comparing it with other conventional teacher education programs. This research is expected to shed some light on the contributions of teaching experience to the professional development of teachers.
