The use of medicinal plants is a valid alternative to face the process of health and disease, a practice that is reinforced by the fact that they are medicines of proven effectiveness for man, who uses the elements that nature provides to prevent and cure their diseases, with the search for substances with antibacterial and antifungal activity. It is important to find effective therapeutic alternatives against infections caused by microorganisms resistant to antibiotics, as is the case of the substances found in the malojillo plant (Cymbopogon citratus).
