Sie hat einen Abschluss in Leibeserziehung von der Bundesuniversität Rio de Janeiro (1984); eine Spezialisierung in Hochschullehre vom brasilianischen Institut für Medizin und Rehabilitation (1995); einen Master-Abschluss in Leibeserziehung und Kultur von der Universität Gama Filho (1997) und einen Doktortitel von der Universität Trás os Montes und Alto D'Ouro (2012).
