The experiment was conducted to study the impact of alpha tocopherol in different late sowing conditions. A field experiment was conducted by using three different late sowing dates from 20th December to 10th January with the interval of ten days. The foliar application of four different levels (no spray, 0mM, 0.001mM, 0.01mM) of alpha tocopherol was applied to the plants. The experiment was laid out in completely randomized design with three replications. After one week of the foliar application of alpha tocopherol different morphological and yield parameters were studied. The alpha tocopherol helps to improve the growth parameters, photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoids and yield attributes of the crop like grain weight, number of fertile tillers and also helps to mitigate the effects of heat stress due to late sowing conditions.
