Recent studies involving human and animal models have identified that Saffron and Curcumin help in the improvement of health based on their differentiation chemical constituents. In this study, the effect of aqueous extract of saffron and curcumin was studied on the amount of Gamma-amino butyric acid in Rat's hypothalamus. We measured changes in rat brain GABA concentrations after injection of two different doses of aqueous extracts of saffron and curcumin. Wistar rats (200 10 gr) were injected two doses of Saffron extracts ( 0.2 and 0.5 gr/ml) and two doses of Curcumin extracts (0.2 and 0.5…mehr

Wistar rats (200 10 gr) were injected two doses of Saffron extracts ( 0.2 and 0.5 gr/ml) and two doses of Curcumin extracts (0.2 and 0.5 gr/ml) and were sacrificed 1, 2, 4, 8 weeks later. Brains were removed, hypothalamuses were separated and homogenized. The supernatant was used for subsequent GABA detection by Spectrophotometry in 340 nm wavelength. The results show the improvement of hypothalamus GABA concentration in rats injected with aqueous extracts of Saffron and Curcumin compared with control group.
