The dearth of reproductive health information about parenting plan decision-making among people with sickle cell disorder is a serious challenge that this book attempt to address. This book is a deliberate effort by the author to publicize, the findings of a reproductive health behavioral intervention programmes designed for youths (especially youth living with sickle cell disorder) at high risk of poor reproductive health outcomes. It is also targeted at promoting preconception care and reducing the incidence of unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion, sexually transmitted infections and maternal morbidity and mortality. The author focused on the methodological issues involved in the use of behavioral theories in designing the study. The study illustrated how the Information, Motivation and Behavioral skills model would facilitate greater influence on behavioral skills of self-efficacy for initiating an informed parenting plan among the 'at-risk' youth population. Researchers, youths, teachers, parents and the general public will benefit from this book.
