Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) are becoming more and more frequent in our environment, due to the advance of science, technology and the standardization of these in cities and towns. The study of EMFs has increased due to the growing concern on the part of society and health sciences about the possible biological effects they have on the daily lives of people and even on the organisms with which we live (both positive and negative). In the present study, the effect of 60 Hz EMF on bean seeds (Phaseolus vulgaris L. variety Pinto Americano) is evaluated to determine its effects on the development of different structures. The findings in this study suggest that 60 Hz EMF at the magnetic flux densities used have the potential to cause positive changes in germination percentage and the development of different plant structures.
