Leafy vegetables play an economic role in the food security strategy of urban populations in the South. In Madagascar, Acmella oleracea L. is one of the leafy vegetables most consumed by the population of Mahajanga, yet the market garden production of the area is not sufficient to feed the population, due to the lack of local seed production. The present work aims to provide diagnostic elements of the effect of internal factors on the germinative capacity of seeds, in order to improve the local production of vegetable seeds, to make the supply of urban consumers more in line with their needs. A pot culture was carried out for the germination test. It was revealed that the seeds harvested in a state of natural spread gave a high germination percentage. At the flower head level, the best percentages were obtained from the basal to the median part and almost zero towards the top.
