Everyone of us is engaged in multiple roles at home, work and other aspects of social life. Most paid employees face difficulty to maintain a balance between work and non-work aspects of life. Work-life imbalance has a negative consequence which includes life dissatisfaction, absenteeism, intention to quit, high turn over, and other. Poor work-life balance (WLB) is associated with increased job dissatisfaction and intention to quit one's job. In this work the author explores the effects of WLB on employees' job satisfaction in a manufacturing setting where shift work is more common and recommends a solution to overcome the adverse effects of work life imbalance.
