Clonidine reduces weight gaining behaviour of rats as well as reduce diet intake. It also affects the the glucose level as well as insulin efficacy. It reduces cholesterol and LDL level.This all beneficial the effects are observed in single as well as in combination with metformin, which may be due to activation of imidazoline receptors.
