The objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of Gopeechandanadi Kashaya - a traditional Ayurveda drug, in childhood skin diseases with Kaphapitha predominance - a disease state, in children between the age group 3-12 years. The medium used for the preparation of the drug was the tender coconut of Chawghat Orange Dwarf (Cocos nucifera) having high nutritive value with plenty of macronutrients and micronutrients essentially required for the child population especially during a diseased stage. The study was designed as a single blinded Randomized Controlled Trial with a positive control. The responses of both the groups were assessed clinically after 7,14 and 21 days of treatment. Significant results obtained in the clinical parameters used for assessment such as itching, pain, tenderness, discharge, bleeding, erythema, edema, papulation, suppuration, appetite, thirst, burning sensation, fever, sleep loss and general weakness. Quick response was showed by Gopeechandanadi kashaya in the first two weeks itself and sustained its potential action throughout the treatment period and follow up.The study proved that the drug is effective in the treatment of childhood skin diseases
