The objective of the comparative study is to evaluate the efficiency of the cranes used in the process of loading - unloading containers on ships in a port terminal.The methodology is based on the statistical analysis of the operation records of the ships served at the terminal, and through the use of indicators to evaluate the productivity and efficiency of the equipment during the process of loading - unloading containers. To validate the proposed methodology, 50, 333 records of the traditional system and 115, 324 movements of the appointment system were analyzed during the third quarter of 2018 and 2020 respectively.The results obtained allow identifying those teams that operate above the expected productivity standards from those that do not.It is concluded that the efficiency between the Traditional Method against the Method of Appointments in the operations Loading - Unloading containerized in ships there are significant differences in the indexes of its production of the organization, due to the fact that in the system by appointments there is a better planning of the operations and allocation of the resources used such as: cranes, tractoplanes and assigned personnel.
