Wireless Sensor Networks has emerged as an important technology of the future due to its potential for application across a wide array of domains. Coverage is a fundamental research issue in WSN because it can be considered as the measure of Quality of Service of sensing function for a sensor network. This book basically focuses on how to improve sensors placement so that sensors can effectively & efficiently monitor the required region of interest. This book explores the various coverage and connectivity strategies, such as Grid based and Computational Geometry based coverage strategy, as a solution to the dominant problem of maximizing the coverage area and increasing the connectivity in sensor networks. These strategies have been useful in estimating the worst and the best case coverage in Wireless Sensor Networks. Also, a general scenario of U.I.E.T., M.D.U., Rohtak, India has been designed to efficiently monitor the given region by placing the minimum number of sensor nodes possible using both the random and pre deterministic method of deployment of sensor nodes.
