Cicely Mary Barker nació en Croydon, en el sur de Londres, en 1895 y murió en 1973. Obtuvo fama internacional como artista con sus encantadores libros Flower Fairies, el primero de los cuales, Flower Fairies of the Spring, se imprimió en 1923.
