Autorenporträt
Yvette Mutumba ist seit März 2012 Forschungskustodin für Afrika am Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt am Main. Sie ist zudem Co-Initiatorin des Online-Magazines Contemporary And (C&). Mutumba studierte Kunstgeschichte und Geschichte an der Freien Universität Berlin und promovierte am Birkbeck, University of London. Ihre Dissertation beschäftigte sich mit Fragen bezüglich der Repräsentation von Kunst aus Afrika und der Diaspora im deutschen Kontext innerhalb des Zeitraums der 1960er Jahre bis 2011. Sie hat zahlreiche Texte zum Thema Bildende Kunst aus afrikanischen Perspektiven veröffentlicht. Zwischen 2006 und 2012 initiierte und beriet sie Projekte in Kollaboration mit verschiedenen Institutionen wie dem Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen, dem Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart und dem Auswärtigen Amt.
