Irene Latham has published more than a dozen children's books. She lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her family. She won the Lee Bennett Hopkins award for the most promising poet of 2016. Her book, Leaving Gee's End, was named Book of the Year by ALA in 2011. Karim Shami-Basha was born in Damasco, the capital of Syria. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1984, where he became a celebrated writer and journalist. He's been published in dozens of magazines, and he founded his own, Portico. His book, Journey to and from the Damascus Road, From Islam to Christ, is a bestseller on Amazon. He has received numerous awards for his writing and photography.
