Machiavelli was a diplomat, civil servant, political philosopher and Italian writer. He is considered the father of modern political science and as a relevant figure of the Italian Renaissance. In 1513 he wrote his treatise on political doctrine titled 'The Prince', posthumously published in Rome in 1531.
