RUSSELL KING is Professor of Geography and Dean of the School of European Studies at the University of Sussex. GABRIELLA LAZARIDIS is Lecturer in Politics and Social Policy at the University of Dundee. CHARALAMBOS TSARDANIDIS is Director of the Institute of International Economic Relations in Athens.
