To have an effective policy at place its strong commitment in election manifesto will pave the way for its effective implementation. In this book an attempt has been carried out to assess election manifestos of different Lok Sabha elections in India (1999-2014). Furthermore, its comparison is carried out with election manifestos of different political parties of United Kingdom (2001-2015). A major different is observed between environmental aspects stated in election manifestos of different political parties in India and UK. Indian political parties need to carry out significant efforts to make their election manifestos greener. In addition, implementation of these policies after getting into power needs to a political will and support so as to have sustainable environment for our future.
