This book has proved that the design of the electric system can be undertaken by Electrofit Zapi and will enable Electrofit Zapi to do similar projects in the future, offering full electrification packages. 3D drawing packages are an important tool to be used with projects such as these, allowing ideas to be conveyed easily. This project also shows that mistakes can happen with workmanship, no matter how much care is taken on the design. Heat dissipation has proved to play an important role, it was found to be an issue with the pump controller, without a heat sink the heat would rise too quickly. Technical documentation on the wiring diagram is displayed in this book, in-cooperating the operator controls with the electrical system. Other technical documentation includes working drawing for the traction panel base plate. The method in which these controllers control their motor (Field Orientated Control) is studied, explaining how its process is similar to a separately exited motor, controlling two aspects of the motor.
Autorenporträt
I am currently in my final year of a BENG in Electrical Engineering at Glyndwr University. I have previously studied a FND degree at Staffordshire University participating in the end of year graduate exhibition GradEX. I undertook this project whilst working at Electrofit Zapi in 2014/2015. I currently work at Invertek Drives as a Repair Engineer.
