The mass production of electric vehicles is still hampered by the problem of their high cost and short range. In this context, the work developed in this book concerns the choice, the design and the control that jointly optimize the cost and the autonomy of electric vehicles. Indeed, a systemic design and control tool providing manufacturing results of the motor-converter assembly and taking into account several physical and technological constraints is developed and validated following an implementation of the global model of the power chain under the simulation environment: Matlab-SIMULINK. This study has led to very good simulation results, it presents a powerful design tool optimizing both the autonomy and the cost of electric vehicles.
