In order to facilitate the understanding, learning and revision, this support proposes a simple course for the students of the first year of the applied degree of electrical engineering. The electrical installation presents the interaction of several multidisciplinary phenomena electrical physics and electromechanics. First of all an understanding of the physical and electrical phenomena that can be present during normal or abnormal operation of the installation is essential. A detailed description of these phenomena facilitates the choice of suitable components. The function of a device is a determining criterion in the choice of the electrical device. In fact, in the second part of the first chapter we define the main functions which are: isolating, blocking, protecting, establishing and interrupting. The study of an electrical installation consists in determining precisely the conduits and their electrical protections, starting from the origin of the installation and ending with the terminal circuits. In this context, we will define the main quantities affecting the operation of the installation.
