This work aims to present the technologies for thermal oxidation of waste focusing on reducing the impact caused by inadequate disposal of municipal solid waste and the possibility of generating electricity thus contributing to sustainability in waste management.The option of treating solid waste by burning with the possibility of energy recovery besides being sustainable also has legal support in the National Solid Waste Policy.
