Of all these systems, phosphoric acid is used to improve adhesive bond on aluminium and chromic acid is preferred where corrosion resistance is the main requirement. Similarly the oxide surface obtained using sulphuric acid electrolyte contain number of pores.An attempt was made to produce thick alumina coatings with excellent corrosion resistance at room temperature by carrying anodization of aluminium in potassium titanium oxalate electrolyte which was investigated very less in past literature. Anodization carried out in potassium titanium oxalate alone will yield porous coating.
