Günther Pfeifer, geboren in Hollabrunn, lernte Maler und Anstreicher beim Weiss Fritz in Oberfellabrunn. Dessen Vater wiederum, der alte Weiss, hat das Handwerk bei Pfeifers Opa gelernt (dem "Pfeifermaler"). Aus der Maler-Karriere ist trotzdem nichts geworden. Pfeifer sattelte auf Berufssoldat um, später Wechsel in die Privatwirtschaft. Schreibt für eine Programmzeitschrift, außerdem Theaterstücke und Kriminalromane. Lebt in Grund, einem kleinen Dorf im Weinviertel.
