This work deals with the study of metallic systems by using photoemission spectroscopy (laboratory and synchrotron radiation sources) and low energy electron diffraction techniques. Nano scale materials currently attract considerable attention since they offer variety of novel features. For this purpose, we grow the rare gas nano bubbles in Al(111) surface and studied core-level binding energy shift and plasmon excitation as a function of different implantation conditions. Another important system studied here is the ferromagnetic shape memory alloys, which attracted a lot of interest in recent years due to their potential technological importance and interesting physical properties. We have also studied the CuZn alloy by using inverse photoemission. We have also performed band structure calculation to understand the electronic properties of these materials.
