In the environment where information communication technology (ICT) has invaded all fields of information, library users are changing the ways in which they seek information for their studies or researches. As this is the case and with the current status of budget shortage in libraries, there is a growing need to continuously evaluate library resources and know what library patrons prefer. This study is done in order to highlight electronic versus print journals usage in academic libraries in Abu Dhabi. The study concentrates on what faculty members and graduate students prefer to use and what are the factors which control this usage. It focuses particularly on how patrons use, cite and evaluate electronic and print journals during the research process. This study also explores the problems which patrons face while they use each journal format.

Khaled got his Bachelor degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the Lebanese University, Tripoli, Lebanon, and Master of Library and Information Science from the American University in the Emirates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. His research concentrates on electronic versus print journals usage especially in academic libraries.
