On a charity mission, an heiress and a veteran find a mass grave that sends them on a pulse-pounding race against time in the opening salvo of this highly acclaimed thriller series. Join the thousands of fans who call athlete-heiress Pia Sabel and fabled veteran Jacob Stearne old friends and give the series a full five stars. While on Borneo, Pia Sabel and Jacob Stearne stumble into a gruesome lab where the sick and dying share shocking symptoms. By the time they get home to DC, their friend develops the same mysterious illness. As they work to expose the international conspiracy, a vicious adversary plots to silence them. Complicating their rush to find an antidote is their discovery that the virus' DNA was manmade-and if unleashed-could wipe out large sectors of the population. Pia has survived multiple attempts on her life since her parents' brutal murders at age four. She's worked hard and trained to fend for herself, but the forces arrayed against her are sometimes overwhelming. That's where legendary and decorated veteran Jacob Stearne comes in. Can she count on him to control the voice in his head long enough to unravel the plot against humanity? Racing from five-star hotels in DC to seedy pharmaceutical plants in rural China, Pia and Jacob must move fast to save their friend and the world from a drug company that engineered a disease only its proprietary drug can cure. ¿¿¿¿¿ Praise for Seeley James' Sabel Security series Pia Sabel reminds me of a young Eve Dallas, always driven to succeed - Ingrid Anderson Jacob and his sidekick god, Mercury are two of the best characters ever created - Secret World Book Club The twists in Seeley James stories are better than Steve Berry's Cotton Malone - David Gormer Jacob and the team from Sabel Security remind me of James Rollins' Sigma Force series only pitted against corruption - Melissa Krueger The intricate plotting in Sabel Security novels creates a world you'll love to get lost in - Pat Chapman Plenty of edge of the seat suspense, a splash of well-timed humor, and adventures that leave you wanting more - Susan Gainoutdinov You can feel them facing evil, staring it in the face and saying, "Bring it on!" - Ann Graham I loved the character of Pia Sabel - there's a girl Charlie Fox would team up with any day! - Zoe Sharp, author of the Charlie Fox novels An excellent fast-moving action thriller - Eric Crown, Founder of F500 company, Insight Enterprises

Autorenporträt
His near-death experiences range from talking a jealous husband into putting the gun down to spinning out on an icy freeway in heavy traffic without touching anything. His resume ranges from washing dishes to global technology management. His personal life stretches from homeless at 17, adopting a 3-year-old at 19, getting married at 37, fathering his last child at 43, hiking the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim at 59, and taking the occasional nap. His writing career ranges from humble beginnings with short stories in The Battered Suitcase, to being awarded a Medallion from the Book Readers Appreciation Group. Seeley is best known for his Sabel Security series of thrillers featuring athlete and heiress Pia Sabel and her bodyguard, the mentally unstable veteran Jacob Stearne. One of them kicks ass and the other talks to the wrong god. His love of creativity began at an early age, growing up at Frank Lloyd Wright's School of Architecture in Arizona and Wisconsin. He carried his imagination first into a successful career in sales and marketing, and then to his real love: fiction.
