John R. Stark is a veteran journalist and editor who has had staff positions on the SF Examiner/Chronicle, People magazine, Cooking Light magazine, Martha Stewart's Body + Soul, Cooks Illustrated and Walking magazine. His stories have appeared in such print publications as the Sunday The New York Times, Newsday, AARP magazine, The Boston Globe, and the Desert Sun. John was a founding editor of PBS' "Next Avenue" website for boomers, where he wrote 100 blogs and features. John spent two years with the New Jersey State Troopers writing an on-the-job book called "Troopers." John has also written for The Huffington Post and PurpleClover.com. John holds a master's in journalism from Boston University. Currently, he is semi-retired and lives in Palm Springs, where he has become well-versed in the sights, history, and stories
