From author Rosemary Bergstrom: "This little collection of work is organized around this old and nearly universal notion of the elements as I have experienced it. I hope you find in it something you can touch and taste, something that can warm and nourish you, a place you've been looking for, a music that gives you pleasure, a quintessence of the earth." From author Rosemary Bergstrom: "This little collection of work is organized around this old and nearly universal notion of the elements as I have experienced it. I hope you find in it something you can touch and taste, something that can warm and nourish you, a place you've been looking for, a music that gives you pleasure, a quintessence of the earth." From Richard Keller of Wooden Pants Publishing: I met Rosemary during "Between the Pages," a literary talk show that focuses on Colorado authors. The poems she read to the listening audience were mesmerizing, almost tactile. You could hear the sounds of the world, smell the fire, taste what she offered in her free verse. And this is why I am so honored to be the person to release her first poetry anthology, Elements. Not only did Rosemary have confidence in Wooden Pants Publishing, she also had confidence in our design team. Together Rosemary and the WPP staff put together a gorgeous work of poetry and images. We hope you enjoy it with friends and family, because poetry should always be treasured.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Rosemary Lukacevich Bergstrom was born in Chicago, the granddaughter of central European immigrants and daughter of lower middle class Roman Catholic parents. Her father was a high school educated machinist, and her mother was a business school graduate and secretary until the Rosemary's birth. Rosemary was educated in Chicago Roman Catholic schools all the way through university where she met her husband, Robert. She considered going on to graduate school but was dissuaded to pursue an advanced degree and instead took a secretarial position for a department director at the American Medical Association. Two years after graduation she married Robert and moved to Durham, North Carolina, where her husband completed a Ph.D. at Duke University. The couple moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where Bob had a job as Assistant Professor of English at University of Nebraska. Their first child, Robert Francis, Jr., arrived a year later; and 18 months after that came twins: Katherine and Michael. They were all bright and busy and kept Mom busy, but soon enough they found their way into nursery school and then public school, and Rosemary found time for other work. Editing jobs at UNL led to a position with the Center for Great Plains Studies. When that grant funded project had run its course, a position as fiscal administrator for the Lincoln Division of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Lincoln Division took its place. Finally, an opportunity became available to teach in the College of Journalism as an Adjunct Instructor. Through it all there were editing jobs, poetry writing, and volunteer work at schools, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, and the League of Women Voters. Nearing retirement, the decision was made to follow son Rob to Colorado where new opportunities and friends were found. Rosemary never regretted that decision, especially when Robert died in 2013, and she found then how many Colorado friends she really had, particularly at the Foothills Unitarian Church which provided a community unlike any other she had ever known. Son Michael followed her here in 2014. Daughter Katherine is a bookstore manager in Lincoln, Nebraska. Poetry and a love of the natural world has sustained Rosemary throughout her adult life, and an opportunity to publish brought these two central interests together. Rosemary hopes to go on writing and sharing her work with her friends for as long as she keeps traveling this land and finding subjects.
