It is included in the Lima, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,917 people, 698 households, and 552 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,852.1 people per square mile (711.7/km²). There were 717 housing units at an average density of 692.7/sq mi (266.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.72% White, 1.93% African American, 0.57% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.73% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.46% of the population.
