Alastair R. Lumsden received his PhD from the University of St Andrews, Scotland. His research interests include the socio-political and military development of Western Mediterranean and Temperate European cultures (particularly pre-historical 'Barbarian' groups), warfare in the First Millennium BC and networks and dynamics of power in Bronze and Iron Age Pre-State societies.
