.Elli ist sechzig Jahre alt. Sie hat ein schönes Leben hinter sich. Obwohl sie nun nur noch in Ihrer Videothek arbeitet, die in dem kleinen Dorf, in dem sie lebt, gerade den Bach runtergeht und auch noch die Kündigung des Kredits Ihrer Bank in Empfang nehmen darf, war sie einmal, gemeinsem mit Ihrem Mann Josef, sehr glücklich. Sie hatten ein Kino und durften sich gemeinsam die Welt ansehen. Nur ist Josef viel zu früh gestorben und von da an ging alles schief. Elli muss schon wieder von einer ihrer wenigen, noch verbliebenen, Freundinen auf der Beerdigung einer anderen Freundin, erfahren, dass diese weiter weg zieht, um ihre Tochter zu unterstützen. Dazu noch der Brief von der Bank und die Gemeinde hat auch kein Geld mehr für das wandelnde Filmlexikon, sodass sie auch keine Vorführungen in Altersheimen und anderen Einrichtungen machen kann und Elli ist wahrlich am Ende.
Aber Elli wäre nicht Elli, wenn der Brief, den sie in der Post findet und von einem Fabrizio stammt, den sie längst vergessen hatte, sie nicht aufrütteln würde. Sie erfährt von einem misteriösen Erbe auf Capri und schnappt sich ihren letzten Notgroschen um mit ihrem alten Käfer nach Italien zu fahren.
Auf dieser Reise geschieht, was geschehen muss und der Käfer gibt seinen Geist auf. Noch gerade so über den Brenner geschaft, wird Elli von Heinz, einem Mann in ihrem Alter, aufgegabelt, der ihr anbietet, sie in seinem "Männerwohnmobil" mitzunehmen. Aus der anfänglichen Kabbelei wird eine Art der Zuneigung, die für Elli allerdings ganz neu ist. In Nizza trennen sich Heinz und Elli dann, um jeweils ihren eigentlichem Grund der Reise nachzuverfolgen. Nur blöd, dass Elli ihr Geld und ihre Papiere in Heinz´ Wohnwagen verliert.
Eine Nacht auf der Parkbank später setzt Elli nach Nizza über. Ihre Freundin hatte ihr von Deutschland aus noch Geld überwiesen. Da trifft sie der zweite Schlag: Ihre Schwester, die sie seit Jahren nicht mehr gesehen hat (und das aus gutem Grund) ist auch da, um in den Genuss des Erbes zu kommen.
Ab nun passieren tausend Sachen auf einmal: Heinz kommt zurück, auf einmal gibt es woh doch kein Erbe, ein Schlitzohr will sie über den Tisch ziehen, die Tochter von Ellis Schwester trifft ein, eine große Liebe wird wieder erwährmt, eine neue Liebe entsteht,......
Meine Meinung:
Dieses Buch war schön leicht und flüssig zu lesen. In der dritten Hälfte jedoch sind mir zu viele Sprünge zwischen den einzelnen Personen gewesen. Die Ereignisse, die auf Capri passieren, waren teilweise sehr überraschend, was da Buch etwas aus dem allgemeinen Trott: "Am Ende wird alles Gut" rausbrechen ließ, was mir gut gefiehl. Trotzdem war es bei diesem Buch so, dass man sich auf sein Gefühl verlassen konnte, dass man schon zu Beginn des Buches hatte.
Den Titel finde ich durchaus treffend gewählt, denn man erfährt erst zum Ende hin, was für eine wichtige Rolle er doch spielt.
Alles in allem ein Buch, was schön zu lesen war, wenn man gerne leichte Leküre mit Happy End mag.
