In Embodied Ayurveda for Yoga Practitioners, yoga, ayurveda and somatic awareness are combined to create a potent process for self-care. In their unique ways these three disciplines are about self-awareness. The practices offered here are somatic-awareness invitations to experience Ayurvedic principles as living, breathing realities in one's own body. Once they are embodied, Ayurvedic principles can easily become a natural enhancement to any yoga practice. Yoga practitioners intuitively adapt their practice to how they are feeling. If they are low in energy, they will do a less vigorous practice. A restorative practice is more appealing when they are not feeling well. When stressed, they might be attracted either to a challenging practice that washes away the tension, or to a gentle practice that soothes the body/mind. All of this is common sense and instinct.
