HESTER is an assistant professor in the Department of Science, Technology and Society at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. She is a co-editor of Translocalities/Translocalidades: Feminist Politics of Translation in the Latin/a Américas and the author of several publications on the promises and pitfalls of cultural competence.
