"To best prepare students for careers in today's evolving healthcare model, Embrace Your Excellence: A Psychopharmacology Primer and Mirror to the Soul combines sound instruction in psychopharmaceuticals with a modern, compassionate, holistic view of patient care. The book uses an instructional model that includes comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of learning to give students a thorough understanding of stimulants, depressants, opiates/opioids, hallucinogens, and neuromodulators. Each stand-alone module of the text features learning objectives, key terms, multicultural case studies, text enquiries, and student-centered learning activities. Activities can be adapted for use by individuals, small groups, or whole classes. In addition, the materials can easily be customized through selection of specific modules or activities within them. Embrace Your Excellence emphasizes the importance of developing and using critical thinking to make decisions that will ensure patient safety and quality of care. With its comprehensive examination of psychopharmaceuticals, their uses, advantages, and disadvantages, Embrace Your Excellence prepares pre-service healthcare practitioners to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
