Proctologic emergencies are a frequent cause of consultation in Emergency Departments. For patients this type of problem involves, in addition to the symptoms themselves, in many cases embarrassment and shame, which may result in a late consultation in relation to the onset of the clinical picture. It is a challenge for the emergency physician to be able to clearly determine the diagnosis and appropriate treatment, as well as the need for hospitalization or to indicate the consultation of a specialist. That is why it is necessary to have the basic knowledge for the diagnosis and management of the most frequent pathologies such as anal pain, anal bleeding or increased volume in the perianal area.
