My research interests are based on the sociological framework. My interest was piqued because I am fascinated by the postapartheid literature from South Africa which is an offshoot of postcolonialism. My work is reflective of the thematic concerns of three postapartheid South African writers as shown in their works namely Andre Brink's The Rights of Desire, Phaswane Mpe's Welcome to our Hillbrow and Niq Mhlongo's Dog Eat Dog in which there are still persisting themes which are the fallouts of the covert existence of colonialism in a new world albeit in the hands of different perpetrators.
